Review of Miller's Crossing (1990) by Shawn-Ray M — 02 Aug 2009
A simply amazing mobster movie by the Coen Bros. The world they set up really draws you in and for once (as I'm not a huge fan of the Coens) I loved how they told their story visual. I'm glad they made this movie as it has given me several ideas.
.. and I would never have thought I'd consider borrowing anything from the Coen Bros. One thing I did notice, however, was that the Coen's seemed to borrow entire segments of dialog from Dashiell Hammett novels.
.. but you wouldn't really notice that unless you were a fan of Hammett's work.
