Review of Miller's Crossing (1990) by Paul S — 18 Mar 2010
Prime Coen brothers, beautifully shot, larger than life characters and an excellent lead performance from Gabriel Byrne. Seems slightly overlooked amongst their other offerings but really shouldn't be.
It's film noir but not film noir. It's a gangster movie but not a gangster movie. It's a Coen brothers film. And this is (nearly) always a very, very good thing.
