Review of Millennium Actress (2002) by Tsz Yeung Yvonne P — 16 May 2008
A story of a life spent in an impossible pursuit. In his play with the boundaries between reality and fiction, we can see foreshadows of Kon's later work with Paranoia Agent. For the first half of the movie, the filmmaker and his cameraman's presence in Chiyoko's memories was functional only as an annoying form of narration, but it proves to have essential meaning by the film's end.
