Review of Milk? (2012) by Gary S — 07 May 2012
Wow, why haven't I seen this film until now, Milk is great cinematic-ally and a beautiful historic movement, for Gay rights.
The story is so coherent that its like we are living in the days of Harvey Milk when he is the first American openly gay man elected to public office, and made the movement for Gay rights. Great romantic inspirational story and a memorable one at that; with mesmerizing performance, and dialogue by Sean Penn, Emile Hirsch, James Franco. Eye candy's for sure!
Both Sean Penn and James Franco does a outstanding job in their performance as two openly gay men. I honestly didn't know James Franco was in a LGTB film. Highly appreciated, and kudos to you James Franco, and Sean Penn.
Director Dustin Lance Black really captures every scenes beautifully with flashy camera work and direction. He also captures the setting and how he put the old footage and mixes it with what is going on throughout the film as real live people are playing as the footage is playing. Brilliant. (Kinda reminded me to Forth Kind).
Overall a great tale of a history of a courage Gay activist named Harvey Milk changed history for the LGTB community. With mesmerizing performance by Sean Penn as Harvey Milk, and James Franco as Scott Smith.
Thank you Harvey Milk and may you RIP!
