Brilliant and beautiful film. Stellar performance by Penn - like him or not, he's a phenomenal actor, and that's a fact (proven here again). Watch, enjoy. A divine movie that captures the essence of the subject matter perfectly and beautifully and leaves the viewer with many thoughts you could have never guessed would naturally flow from it.
Van Sant redeems himself, although he is still not where he used to be...
