A definition of a true American film. Gus Van Sant has once again crafted a masterpiece that shows the lives of Harvey Milk (Sean Penn). Sean Penn In an Academy Award Winning Performance gave one of the most heart-felt passionate performances that I have ever witnessed on film.
With one of the greatest casts that I have ever seen, that includes Academy Award Nominee Josh Brolin, Who was chilling yet fragile as Dan White, Emile Hirsh was energetic as Cleve Jones, and James Franco gave a heartwarming performance as Scott Smith.
This film is very tender and emotional, you can like Harvey Milk and yet really feel bad for Dan White at the same time.
