Review of Milk (2008) by Alice Y — 30 Jun 2011
The screenplay is too immediate and doesn't balance well the personal and political life of Harvey Milk. It's Van Sant's visual style (he limits himself to the direction only in this film) and a great cast headed by a great Sean Penn in the role of the titular political activist that make this a powerfully compelling one.
