Review of Milk (1998) by Paul M — 04 Aug 2013
Gus Van Sant's previous few films before Milk were experimental and could easily drive audiences away with the extreme lingering lulls in storyline or dialogue, but for Milk he delivered more traditional filmmaking but still kept an original and artistic style.
Sean Penn and James Franco have insane chemistry together and the rest of the cast really stands out as well. An important story that certainly could have been told as a biopic narrative much sooner, but it was still welcomed when it came.
