When you watch Mile 22 you get two movies in one. The first movie is an intense action shoot-em-up with Mark Wahlberg pulling at the trigger at the bad guys, that's well worth the 90-minute runtime.
The second movie is a hot mess of unnecessary backstory and drama that serves no purpose but to kill time between shootouts. Fortunately, the good outweighs the bad.
