After watching "Whatever Happened to Baby Jane?" Joan Crawford scares the crap out of me, but she gives a great performance in this 1945 film. "Mildred Pierce" is a Film Noir, but unlike most Film Noirs, has female characters as the focus of attention.
Crawford plays the hard-working mother of a greedy, cruel, "femme fatale" of a daughter. Anyone who enjoys Film Noir should check out this film.
