I'm no fan of Joan Crawford as she tends to over act parts, as she does in this movie. Although this is a drama it tends to be very campy with Joan Crawford overacting. I find myself laughing thru the movie.
The movie starts with a scene from the end, Joan Crawford wearing $50.000 worth of fur looking like a hugger bear is about to commit suicide by jumping into the harbor with all that fur on. There are no dull spots in MILDRED PIERCE.
The tension builds throughout this movie, the script is excellent and all the minor roles are cast and played beautifully.
