"My Girlfriend's Boyfriend" is a poignant comedic adventure. While viewers of Birbiglia's previous work may recognize some material from "Sleepwalk with Me," I don't believe the repetition detracts from the dramatic and comedic elements of this show.
"My Girlfriend's Boyfriend" may even be more deserving of a cinematic treatment than "Sleepwalk with Me" due to its deeply interwoven story and dramatic elements that are spread throughout the set.
It's humourous, dramatic, moving, and very enjoyable.
