Efron and Devine have chemistry, and the scenes they are in work, but Plaza and Kendrick's characters have no redeeming qualities, making it hard to care about anything they do or to care about any potential love story blossoming between them and Efron/Devine.
It's not funny enough to be entertaining and it becomes cliche and predictable at the end.
