Review of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Movie (1995) by Mykee M — 30 Nov 2008

I was too young to see it in theaters, but watched it on video in the 90s. I grew up watching Power Rangers, and for what it was, this movie was good. I mean, we're not dealing with Star Wars or anything, but for a movie based on a cheesy, low-tech children's show, it carried itself well.

Obviously, there are flaws. There was a wave of bad movies in the 90s that overloaded the CGI effects, all horrible. This was one of them. The special effects are atrociously bad. What isn't so bad are the costumes, which I've always been quite impressed with. The effects can be forgiven considering the source material on which it is based.

Fight scenes are insane, almost Crouching Tiger-esque.
