Review of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Movie (1995) by Jacki C — 27 Jun 2009
Ah! The Plastic!!!! Everything is covered in it! Even the alien-lady that looks completely human has a PLASTIC loin cloth! WHY CAN'T THEY AFFORD FABRIC?!
There was a time in my life when I was head over heals in love with the green ranger who became the white ranger. I think that must be why I have such good feelings associated with the name "Tommy." But after watching this I cannot, for the life of me, figure out why I chose to like him. They're all less than interesting or cute and none of them are good actors. And poor yellow ranger. She must feel so shunned when everyone keeps pushing the idea that the pink ranger is the "cute one.".
Anyway. The movie was fun to throw jokes at for a while, but not really worth the hour and a half. I think a good 30 minutes of that was just watching them fly through the air for no reason going, "yaawwh!" Seriously, there's a point in the movie where they do that for so long that the bad guys get bored and leave before they're done.
