Review of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Movie (1995) by Steven P — 18 Nov 2011

This Power Rangers movie, while not looking like much today, was impressive for the time. Rather than use Sentai footage, it instead boasted a large budget of $15 million, a thousand times the amount used to make an episode of the show.

It had the actors from the show stage their own fights entirely, and their Zords are in CGI. They look goofy now, but this film came out about 5 months before Toy Story, and is decent for this type of movie.

There is now a resurgence in Power Rangers, and there are plans to make another movie. So, for better or worse, Go Go, Power Rangers.
