Review of Mighty Aphrodite (1995) by Joel A — 20 Jun 2012
A clever film by the infamous man himself Woody Allen ...in this film he is fascinated by the origins of his highly intellectual adopted son & ventures to find his mother. Obviously she is a adult actress & barely able to string few words together.
It's a very dialogue heavy film as you would expect with a Woody Film but I thought Mira Sorvino was great in her role (despite a really weird voice she put on) & landed herself an Oscar for best supporting actress.
I also liked how the film linked Woody's inner monologue with Ancient Greek Mythology... all in all a likable film & really showed although he made a film a year some of the are obviously average but some are really good.
