Pearl Harbor should have learned its' lesson from Midway--don't throw in a love triangle or a forbidden love subplot into a movie. If you want it to be a date movie, just make it historically accurate and compelling and let the chips fall where they will.
I like the film, apart from the forbidden love stuff.
