Such a great yet underrated comedy. Robert DeNiro and Charles Grodin interact perfectly and Yaphet Kotto and Dennis Farina put in perfect cameos. Jack Walsh (DeNiro) is a one-time Chicago cop who is run out of town by Chicago mob boss Jimmy Serrano (played by Farina) for not getting on the payroll.
He gets divorced and becomes a bounty hunter and his big payday comes where he can get out of the bounty hunting business by bringing accountant Jonathan Mardukas (played by Grodin) from New York to Los Angeles.
Mardukas stole $15 million from Serrano. Unfortunately, between the FBI on Walsh's trail and Serrano trying to track them down and Mardukas' hijinks, what should be a "midnight run" to Los Angeles becomes a LOT harder than that and what ensues is a fantastic comedy.
