Review of Midnight Movie (2008) by Todd S — 17 May 2010
2008 US Director: Jack Messitt.
Score: 4.
Oh come on now! Give me something to work worth! Seriously! This movie's main premise hinges on the fact that somehow this particular movie theater was built tougher than most prisons. Give me a break. Bullet proof mirrored glass (that wouldn't stop more than a 2-3 well placed shots by the way), reinforced doors, and somehow the front glass even nullifies the sound of impacts good enough that someone standing right on the other side wouldn't here it. It's just ridiculous. With all that wrong, the rest of the film is shot, logic-wise. Ok, then at least there's the actors. Oh wait, they didn't help. They weren't that good. A little ham here, a little cheese there, and presto we have a deli style production. The soundtrack is useless as far as adding anything to the film. The gore effects are the only thing in the movie that reaches at least the average mark. With many better horror films out there, even just recently, there is no reason to waste time watching this one.
