Review of Midnight in Paris (2011) by Lauren Q — 28 Jul 2014
Now thats a screenplay! Very original, powerful story, no cliches whatsoever!
When the movie started I was displeased with a few cliches, like a man singing in english in a club in paris, our a stranger comes to Gil and talks english, but it doesnt take long after that that I reallised that its a part of the story (its his immagination that we see, our that is what I believed it was). So like I said before this film is bursting with originality, I found that it has a very relaxed way of directing and the sets looked great. Also worth mentioning is the philosophical message about nostalgia on which the movie is actually based on.
