Review of Midnight in Paris (2011) by Randall Q — 14 Sep 2012
A simple film from Woody Allen, Midnight in Paris romanticizes the idea of being an author and being in Paris, while being self-aware that its romantic tendencies lend itself to self-depreciating humor.
The performances are great, the soundtrack is great, the pacing is great, and the film is good if not for everyone. Those not enthralled with Allen and his style will find nothing new or anything to like here; however, I think most who watch will enjoy it if in the appropriate mood.
