Review of Midnight in Paris (2011) by Mark J — 01 Sep 2013
Perfectly watchable. As a Literature student I found the references interesting, after 'Vicky Christina Barcelona' I feared Woody Allen had just given up making good films but this claws him back some points in my book.
The film feels at times as though it is just casually and obliquely sauntering its way smugly to the end but there is enough honesty and naivety in Owen Wilson's character to give it merit, not to mention the oblique path we didn't intend on taking can often be more surprising and charming than anticipated.
