Review of Midnight in Paris (2011) by Tim E — 17 Sep 2013
This movie stands as my favorite movie, period. It captures the beauty and nostalgia of Paris in a way only Woody Allen can. Great cast, great story, great music. I realize the biggest criticism of this movie is that every audience member thinks they relate to Owen Wilson's character in a way only they can, but isn't that beautiful in a way? I think it's an asset, not a crutch.
That's the magic of this movie - it brings out a different kind of Gil in each one of us, and reminds us of why we create what we create and yearn for what we yearn.
