Review of Midnight in Paris (2011) by Bkm — 31 Jan 2012
Woody Allen's latest film is as light as air, but still manages to say something of substance about the dangers of nostalgia and romanticizing the past. The main love story is not between Wilson and McAdams, but between Wilson and his idealized vision of 1920s Paris.
The insights provided by the film may be minor (to paraphrase Wilson's character), but they are still most welcome.
