Review of Midnight Express (1978) by Noel K — 13 Aug 2009
I really cant understand why people think this is such a great film. Yes, Brad Davis is quite good, considering this was one of his first film roles, but I really struggled to find his performance believable.
The same can be said the film as a whole: I really couldn't believe in any of the characters, or the story. John Hurt is clearly trying to steal the film, overacting in every scene. By today's standards, I dont think this is a great film, but I can understand how it could have been scene as 'great' when it first came out.
