Based on the true story of a 20 year-old that tries to smuggle 2.5 kilos of hash out of Turkey. Midnight Express is a haunting portrayal of the harsh Turkish prison system, politics and living conditions of the country.
While the acting isn't award-winning the film does a good job exploring the psychosis of the prisoner. The conditions and punishments are cringing.
