Review of Midnight Express (1978) by Kyle B — 03 Sep 2014
All right drama thriller. It's got a nice pace and it never feels dragged out for it's length. The story is not that unique and at times I feel that it's nothing special or shocking about the happenings and treatment here. The guy tries to smuggle two keys of hash, you know. From Turkey. Via airplane. Not the smartest move if you ask me.
I don't sympathise a whole lot, but it sure got it's moments. Some nastier scenes and some weirder ones spice it up a lot. Another spice are the many cool characters. Quite sure I have heard that song someplace before, at least a sample of it.
Boy, those real pictures shows that the casting was quite exceptional - a nice touch!
6.5 out of 10 bad machines.
