Midnight Express is one of the first films I have ever seen and the thing that I remember very clear is the magnificent soundtrack?.. But except this Midnight Express is one of the most daring and original prison films ever made.

The film starts very simply with a story of a foolish and immature student William Hayes - who Brad Davis plays great - trying to smuggle two kilos of hashish out of Turkey and being caught by Turkish guards.

Then what follows is one of the most harrowing and horrific prison experiences ever put on film. Director Alan Parker and screenplay Oliver Stone makes some remarkable scenes which are shows their creative powers.

After the first time I?ve seen it a couple of times and I?ve never been able to forget it. In conclusion I have to say that I can still watch and ?enjoy? this movie but only if I shut out its demonization of all things Turkish--which is, of course, not entirely possible.

One movie is not fair to demonize an entire nation.
