Review of Midnight Cowboy (1969) by Sara J — 04 Jun 2008
At the time this must have been a ground breaking movie, but I don't think it has aged well. I think Jon Voight is a horrible actor, Hoffman salvages this flick. The music is just not right for most of the movie.
As an aside, when I was growing up my little sister just *had* to have an organ, the kind with the push button chords. She got it and I was the only one who played it - I taught myself to read music with it and played the songs in the book that came with it - one which was Midnight Cowboy.
I always wondered what the move was about - "Midnight Cowboy, See the Lonesome Midnight Cowboy". Anyway... I finally saw the move and was not impressed and I'll leave it at that.
