Review of Midnight Cowboy (1969) by Ken L — 05 Sep 2008
Absolutely unbelievable. One of the most powerful (and under-appreciated) films of all time. The film flows together seamlessly, from the Harry Nilson music, to the flawless acting, to the emotions that the characters convey to us as the audience.
This is not a film for all, but it is certainly a must for any serious film lover. I can't recommend this one highly enough. At the time it was Rated X and is very mild by today's standards, but at the time, it certainly wasn't, which is why I think it isn't more well known (and thus, well loved).
Without question, one of the most powerful films I have ever seen. If not the most powerful.
