Review of Midnight Cowboy (1969) by Ewan G — 11 Apr 2009
As unorthodox as it is brave, this film leaves a resounding impact once it has finished. The dynamics of a bizarre and equally tragic character study work as a vessel for striking artistry from director John Schlesinger and both lead actors.
At times cruelly cynical, the film benefits from earnest, compelling performances from Jon Voight and, even more noticably, the boundless talent that is Dustin Hoffman. Well-deserving of its status as a classic.
