Review of Midnight Cowboy (1969) by Lucas Y — 21 Jul 2010
A favorite of mine. One of the best acted movies ever. 2 opposites, a naive cowboy and sleezy con man, meet in NY in hopes to find the American dream only to fall flat on their faces. Awesome visual style from Schlesinger.
Terrific John Barry score. Hoffman's performance just kills me especially in the last 20 minutes. Love the opening with Voight too. "Where's that Joe Buck?".
