Review of Midnight Cowboy (1969) by Jason M — 21 Jul 2010
One of my favorite films. This completely laid the groundwork for 70's cinema. Great performances, a seedy realistic plot, and incredibly surreal and visceral flashbacks. It's funny, touching, and captures the lunacy of New York in the late 60's when no one else dared to.
It was originally given an X rating, which is just absurd. Hoffman MAKES this movie.
