Review of Midnight Cowboy (1969) by James K — 19 Jun 2012
I just loved this movie! It's heart-breaking, sad, funny, happy, its a roller coaster of emotion. One of the best-acted movies I have ever seen, with Jon Voight and Dustin Hoffman, both amazing people.
It's an amazing story of a dim-witted southern guy with an extremely dark and disturbing past. He is escaping isolation from the south only to find even more isolation when he arrives in New York.
The overall theme of isolation is established so stealthily, yet its as clear as day. An amazing achievement in film, and a true inspiration.
