Review of Micmacs (2009) by Tony P — 03 Mar 2010
Jeunet's usual lavish-retro visual stylings and oddball characters and inventiveness. This may not be quite up there with his best offerings, but is still highly entertaining in the inventiveness of the schemes by which these oddballs stick it to the man.
It has its faults, there's probably too many characters so some don't get enough time to breath or develop, but there's an infectious optimism and joie de vivre about the whole thing that makes these but small quibbles.
