Review of Micmacs (2009) by Geoff B — 05 Mar 2010
Oddballs from the edge of society, all with their reasons for being 'different', take on Big Corporate in this steampunk tale of mischief. An unchallenging set-up and familiar Jeunet kookiness still entertains but doesn't explain.
Because the gang's intricate stunts and plans are presented as they happen, with few mistakes and little jeopardy, it's like watching a puppet show. They dance for our amusement but we are not engaged.
Sit back and watch. I'm glad I did!
