Review of Micmacs (2009) by Matthew L — 29 Mar 2010
A self-consciously quirky mess of a film about a man whose father was killed by a landmine, and has a bullet lodged in his own head, who bands together with a group of homeless misfits to bring down the weapons-manufacturers who created the objects of their affliction.
Tries and fails to recapture the charm of "Amelie," while adding satirical social significance, and instead feels like a forced and scattershot echo of a much better film.
