Review of Micmacs (2009) by Ian G — 06 Jun 2010
A very whimsical and intriguing take on the tragidies that have beset individuals and their experiences with weapons manufactuers and war in general and how they try to cope with the traumas and such after the fact.
The character of Basil is easy to fall in love with and the deft hand of Jeunet in creating his world that adopts him along with the misfit rebellion is fun and compelling to behold. A great foreign film and a great break from the blockbuster season.
Art work and set pieces as expected are extremely above par.
