Review of Micmacs (2009) by J L — 08 Jul 2010
The overactive imagination of Jean-Pierre Jeunet brings us another skillfully executed and whimsical fairy tale. After taking a more serious detour with 2004's "A Very Long Engagement", this film finds him more in line with 2001's worldwide smash "Amelie.".
The original French title ("Micmacs à tire-larigot") translates to "non-stop shenanigans." That sums up this visually striking and ridiculously implausible film quite nicely.
