Review of Micmacs (2009) by Shawn B — 07 Sep 2010
Jeunet is a brilliantly creative and visual director, who seems, in Micmacs case, hellbent on allowing the viewer to realize that and sometimes forgets the heart of the characters. Micmacs is entertaining, and funny, but it isn't great cinema.
It's a great film to pass some time watching, and there are many subtexts to be pulled from within, but they don't go as deep as needed to leave a lasting impact on the viewer.
