Review of Micmacs (2009) by Mark H — 21 Nov 2010
As visually inventive as any of the Jeunet films. And filled with the same wonderfully peculiar characters. But this outing lacks that certain something that made the earlier films so special. The (politically motivated) plot isn't that interesting and unlike his previous films you don't really care much about the lead character.
Still, there is much to enjoy here, but it's just not as magical as previous efforts. 6/10.
