Review of Mickey's Once Upon a Christmas (1999) by Kevin R — 24 Nov 2013
You're all the music I'll ever need.
This movie contains three short stories. The first film depicts Donald and his three boys. The three boys wish to have Christmas every day; when their wish comes true, they may find having Christmas every day is more than they bargained for. The second story depicts Goofy and his son. Goofy's son doesn't believe Santa exists and Goofy must convince him otherwise. The final story tells the tale of Mickey and Mini working hard to make ends meet. They may both have to sacrifice to get each other's Christmas gifts.
"I've been to all of the foreign lands, Brooklyn included...".
Jun Falkenstein (The Tigger Movie), Alex Mann (who worked on Planes), Bradley Raymond (Tinker Bell), Toby Shelton (The Return of Jafar), and Bill Speers (The Teddy Bears' Picnic) collaborate to deliver Mickey's Once Upon a Christmas. The stories for these cartoons are very entertaining and contain the cliché Disney elements. The animation is old school Disney but perfect for the content.
"You guys must want Christmas every day!".
"Nooooooooooo!".
This cartoon was recently added to Netflix so my daughter and I watched it this morning. We both liked the cartoons and the way the Disney characters were incorporated into the storyline. Overall, this is an entertaining cartoon that is worth watching during the holiday season but far from a must have for your DVD collection.
"Like father like Goof.".
