Review of Mickey Blue Eyes (1999) by Alexis A — 23 Jan 2008
This comedy is a cult classic among my friends, who seem to absolutely love it. While I admit there are some moments in it that are very humorous, the overall movie is just so-so. James Caan is fun to watch as the oddball father, but there are no stellar acting performances that jump off the screen. It is just a fun, cookie-cutter chick flick with some newer elements that do little to really refresh the tone throughout. I would categorize this a fresh, but just barely. It is one I would watch again, but it would be a very, very long time before that occasion comes around.
6/10.
