Thank goodness Hollywood didn't get its hands on Michael Collins! He was such a quietly heroic man which comes across in this film. The casting is superb and the camera work along with the film score work to provide a fantastic atmosphere.
Not quite exactly as things happened, but at least it stays closely to what Collins' hopes and aspirations were.
