Review of Michael Clayton (2007) by Valerio R — 17 Jun 2011
This film got off to what I consider to be a fairly slow start, so I wasn't too sure about what to think of it. However, after it picked up steam, I felt the story really drawing me in. This is a very character driven film, and the reason it works so well has to do with the exceptional casting and chemistry of the actors.
Fine performances all around here, several of which were Oscar nominated. Even though Tilda Swinton took home the gold statue, I really have to give my best acting props here to Tom Wilkinson, whose powerhouse performance as a man coming apart is both brilliant and terrifying to watch.
This film expects you to pay attention, it does not spoon-feed you the facts of the story but has them all in plain sight for you to piece together as the viewer. Overall a very satisfying film.
