Review of Michael Clayton (2007) by Dave M — 11 Feb 2013
This is one of those movies where you ultimately don't know what the fuck is going on throughout the first hour. Then, little by little, all the pieces pile together and for the rest of the film your engrossed in these characters.
Clooney, in my opinion, gives the performance of his career and Tom Wilkinson and Tilda Swinton give two of the best supporting roles this year. Also, Tony Gilroy's script is astounding. Some of the best dialogue all year delivered by some of the best actors.
I don't know how someone could write something as extraordinary as this. This movie reminded me a lot of The Firm one of my all time favorites, although it doesn't have as many tense thrills as The Firm did it is, perhaps smarter.
I really loved watching this and really want to see it again.
