What happened here? I was honestly expecting another crime classic with the talent here. You have two star leads in Colon Farrell, Michael Mann, the original creator of the show in the director's chair and enormous amount of ways you can take the story in a urban landscape such as Miami. In comparison to his movies 'Collateral' & 'Heat', 'Miami Vice' feels boring and half-assed. Within the first half hour, you feel like this movie is going to be special and have that "oh another classic here we go" feeling. However, my hope went down each minute. The biggest issue with this movie is the screenplay, which should always be the most important thing taken into regard before making a movie. Two words to describe it: undeveloped & uninspired.
