Review of Miami Vice (2006) by Jonathan E — 01 Mar 2010
To be honest I thought this was an overly long and extremely dull movie. I think the thing that bothered me most was the lack of characterization. It was like Foxx and Farrell were playing these lifeless characters that had no emotion and no background.
Just two robots trying to solve a crime. Not only that but both actors are extrememly talented and this movie made me forget that because they both failed pretty badly. The movie plows on with no emotional connection to ANYTHING and it was SO serious.
It was like... wow.. crack a joke every now and then? No one is THAT serious. I will, however, give the director some props for creating such a realistic looking crime drama. And a great soundtrack. That's all I can give it though.
