Review of Miami Blues (1990) by Per P — 24 Jun 2007
Colossally underrated movie.
Miami Blues manages to bring new life into the "offbeat" sub-genre; never substituting style for substance and always focusing on its increasingly intriguing characters.
The cast is perfect (especially Baldwin is a stand-out), and perfectly held in check by Armitage's laid-back, controlled direction (as was the case with Grosse Pointe Blank).
One of those movies everyone should've seen already.
